I teach here from the letter of  1. Corinthians verse by verse and add some verses from other scriptures as God leads me. The pictures that you see here are supposed to portray the ancient city of Corinth which adds another impression of what Paul was facing in his time and how courageous he must have been, bringing another, totally different God to these pagan people, that were ruled by the Roman authorities. Imagine: as soon as Paul entered the city with a population of about 700,000 people and started to testify that Jesus is the only way to God, his life was always in danger. With this in mind, the words of Jesus take on a completely different weight:

Acts 18:9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision,

Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee:

for I have much people in this city.
